MBSI Gives Back to the Community through Recent Donation Efforts
(December 2005, Modesto, California)—MedAmerica Billing Services, Inc. (MBSI) has made major contributions to the local community this holiday season.
MBSI selected several charities and organizations to donate to this year, including an organization called “Teen Challenge,” a substance abuse treatment and prevention program for youth and adults. MBSI staff purchased gifts for the 26 children of men going through the rehabilitation program and donated several bags of miscellaneous items to the organization.
To a local collection effort by “Westside Ministries,” located in Turlock, MBSI donated holiday gifts to 36 children of single-parent families. In addition, they donated 45 new coats and four boxes of used coats to the “Coats for Kids” program. The Turlock School District and individual teachers refer kids to Westside Ministries, which administers the program and distributes the coats.
Says Dennis Harsh, IT Manager, who organized the donation collections at MBSI, “The children will really appreciate these gifts, and I pray the generosity demonstrated by the MBSI staff will come back to them many times over.”
Since 1993, MBSI has been one of the most successful subsidiaries of MedAmerica, Inc. by providing billing, coding and auditing services for 47 hospital emergency departments, with a total volume of nearly 2 million patients per year.
